Yesterday (14/09/2018) on the day of birthday of the competition’s patron- Michał Spisak – in the Theater Hall of the Zagłębie Palace of Culture was held the Inaugural Concert of the 12th Michał Spisak International Music Competition.
It all began at 6 p.m., when the president of Dąbrowa Górnicza City – Zbigniew Podraza, Rector of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music – Władysław Szymański and the director of the Zagłębie Palace of Culture – Małgorzata Majewska solemnly opened this year’s competition. Then came the time for the music at the highest level. On the stage, we heard the Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra under the baton of the eminent Massimiliano Caldi, as well as laureates of the 11th edition of the competition – Roksana Kwaśnikowska (violin) and Gabriel Pidoux (oboe) who delighted the audience in Dąbrowa. People on the audience awarded the artists with long, loud applause. A similar reaction took place at the presentation of outstanding clarinettist Zoltán Kovács. The entire Inaugural Concert of the 12th Michał Spisak International Music Competition ended with a standing ovation and official banquet.
