We regret to inform you about the death of one of the greatest contemporary Polish composers, conductors and multi-instrumentalists – Professor Krzysztof Penderecki. Maestro was instrumental in the history of classical music and Polish culture. The professor was a member of the Honorary Committee of the Michał Spisak International Music Competition. Viewers and participants of the competition will remember the concert inaugurating the 10th edition of the competition for a long time, when Krzysztof Penderecki conducted the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice.

The organizers of the competition express their condolences to the composer’s wife and the whole family.
