Sara Butogwa Bulili

Bassoon / Poland

25-year old bassoonist born in Warsaw. She began her musical education in the bassoon classes run by prof. Tadeusz Zakrzewski and prof. Andrzej Budejko. After graduating from the high school, she continued her education in Denmark, where she completed Bachelor studies at the Royal Academy of Music Aarhus/Aalborg under the guidance of renowned Scandinavian bassonists: Sebastian Stevensson, Audun Halvorsen, Eric Beselin and Jakob Fredens,
and then Master’s studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Music
in Copenhagen.

Over the last couple of years, both as an orchestra and chamber instrumentalist, Sara played in projects e.g. with the musicians of Copenhagen Phil, Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, Aalborg Symphony Orchestra, Odense Symphony Orchestra, and was a member of brass quintet Nordlyd, which performs and tours extensively. In order to improve her playing and gain new musical inspirations, the bassoonist regularly and actively participates
in orchestra courses and music festivals in Poland and abroad, for example Pracownia Fagocisty (Poland), orchestra course Ungdomssymfonikerne (Norway), orchestra course Collegium Musicum – Schloß Pommersfelden (Germany) and Carl Nielsen Festival (Denmark).
