Marcin Orliński

Bassoon / Poland

Born in 1994. He took his first bassoon lessons at the age of 13 at the State General Experimental Integrated School of Music in Warsaw. His teacher was
dr hab. Artur Kasperek, with whom he has cooperated to date at the Frédéric Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. In 2014-2018, he studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München in the class of prof. Dag Jensen.
He improved his skills with many outstanding teachers: prof. Laurent Lefèvre (Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et Danse de Paris), Marcus Weidmann (Berliner Philharmoniker), prof. Giorgio Mandolesi (Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et Danse de Paris), prof. Carlo Colombo (Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Lyon), prof. Jaroslav Kubita (Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno). He also received scholarship from the Orchestra of the Royal Capital City of Kraków Sinfonietta Cracovia and Sinfonia Varsovia Academy.

Marcin is a winner of several awards at domestic and international competitions, including: distinction at the 3rd Chamber Competition “TURNIEJ KAMERALNY w trzech odsłonach” (Bydgoszcz, 2016), 2nd prize at the 10th International Competition for Wind Instruments in Brno (Czech Republic, 2015), 3rd prize at the 5th J. Ciepłucha International Academic Competition for Bassoonists and Oboists (Łódź, 2014), 1st prize (2nd prize was not awarded)
at the 10th National Competition for Wind Instrument Ensembles in the ‘Reed Trio‘ category (Warszawa, 2014). He gained orchestra experience from participating in youth orchestra projects such as Santander Orchestra, International Regions Symphony Orchestra, International Lutosławski Youth Orchestra and Young Polish Philharmonic and cooperating with many professional orchestras such as: Sinfonia Varsovia, Tadeusz Szeligowski Poznań Philharmonic, Sinfonietta Cracovia, Grand Theatre – National Opera Orchestra, Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra.

Marcin has also taken part in many festivals, performing as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestra musician. The most important include: Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival, Rheingau Musik Festival (Germany), Krzysztof Penderecki International Festival, Krzyżowa Music Festival, Naantali Music Festival (Finland), Storioni Festival (the Netherlands), Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival (Germany), International Grzegorz Gerwazy Gorczycki Festival, as well as “TRZY-CZTE-RY Konteksty. Kontrasty. Konfrontacje. Festival”.
