Lin Kuan-Ling

French Horn / Taiwan

Lin Kuan-Ling was born on 5 July 1996 in Taipei (Taiwan). She began learning to play the French horn in the primary school. She improved her talent for years before taking up studies at the National Taiwan University in the class of Si-Yuan Chuang. One year later she started studying at the Hochschule für Musik Theater und Medien under the guidance of Markus Maskuniitty.

Her artistic development is perfectly illustrated by participation in the National Competition for Students in Taiwan where she won the 3rd prize in 2009,
2nd prize in 2011 and 1st prize in 2013. The following year she gave her first solo concert within the ‘Young Talents’ series with the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra.

As a French horn player, she has also played with the Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra in Hanover, as well as with the Taiwan and China Symphony Orchestra. She has taken part in master classes run by teachers such as Denise Tryon, Jose Vincente Castello, Ozan Cakar, Paul van Zelm, Frøydis Ree Wekre and Johannes Hinterholzer. In 2014, she also took part in the Beijing International Horn Festival.
