Artur Łukasik is a graduate of the 2nd degree State Music School in Tarnów
at the instrumental studies department in the double bass class
of mgr Krzysztof Krawczyk. He has been learning to play the double bass for 8 years. He is a laureate of many prestigious double bass competitions; he has received among others: the 1st prize with distinction during the Polish Double Base Meetings in Mielec, the 1st prize in the 1st edition of National Double Base Competition CEA, the 1st prize during the International Competition of String Instruments in Elbląg, the 1st prize in the 6th Wiktor Gadziński National Double Base Competition or the 2nd prize in the International Competition of Double Base Personalities in Wrocław. He has received scholarships of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Culture and National Heritage several times for outstanding artistic achievements, and he’s also been a fellow of the scholarship programme of Sapere Auso Foundation. In 2017 he became also a fellow of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage programme “Młoda Polska” (“Young Poland”). He develops his passion for playing the double bass by improving his skills by means of regular participation in International Master Classes in Łańcut and in the Winter Music Academy in Lusławice.
