Akari Nomizu was born on 13 May 1996 in a Japanese town of Ishikawa.
She began her double bass education in 2009 under the eye of Hikaru Sugawara and Ryutaro Hei in Tokyo. The same year she received the first prize during the Young Music Competition in Chiba. Having received the prize, she became
a member of the Chiba Prefecture Youth Orchestra, with which she cooperated until 2015. In 2012 she began learning in the higher school at the Tokyo University of the Arts. Three years later she was already a student of this university and in 2016 she became a student of the Music University
in Karlsruhe as well. She participated in master classes at Janne Saksala
in Berlin. As part of scholarship she participated also in Alexandra Scott’s classes. Since 2015 she has been performing solo and in a duo. She has cooperated with the Academic Orchestra of Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, Ensamble Resonanz and Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg.
