Final results

The third final round of auditions has finished. The Competition Jury has assessed and selected the winners of this year’s competition. The best ones will perform at a great final. The Concert of Laureates and awarding of prizes will take place on 14 September at 19.00 in bazylika NMP Anielskiej in Dąbrowa Górnicza, ul. Królowej Jadwigi 17.

From 6 September to 13 September 2011, after listening to candidates, from Poland and other European countries, for three specialties of wind instruments – trumpet, horn, trombone, the Jury has decided to award the following prizes:

The trombone specialty:

The 1st prize in the amount of 12.000PLN and statuette are awarded to:

The Jury of the competition granted the following extra-statutory awards:

An award of Instytucja Promocji i Upowszechniania Muzyki SILESIA in the form of invitations to concerts are granted to the laureates of the 1st prizes:

The Jury granted awards in the amount of 1.000PLN each, funded by the Rector of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Prof. Tomasz Miczka for the best performance of pieces written to the Competition.

The trombone specialty – Karol Gajda – for performance of the piece by Zdzisław Szostak – Adagio e rondino for trombone and piano
The trumpet specialty – Piotr Nowak- for performance of the piece by Zdzisław Szostak – Andantino e saltarella per tromba a pianoforte
The horn specialty – Krzysztof Tomczyk – for performance of the piece by Jan Wincenty Hawel – Mała Ballada na waltornię i fortepian

Symphony Orchestra of Zabrze Philharmonic granted the prize of 4,000PLN to Krzysztof Tomczyk – horn, funded by STOART Society for Performing Artists (Związek Artystów Wykonawców).

The Jury thanks the Symphony Orchestra of Zabrze Philharmonic conducted by Sławomir Chrzanowski for participation in rehearsals and performances of the participants in the Competition in the 3rd round and the concert of laureates.

Appreciating artistic, social and cultural values of the Competition, the Jury owes a deep debt of gratitude to authorities of Dąbrowa Górnicza for an initiative and continuation of the Michał Spisak International Music Competition and for preparation and organization of it.
