Natalia Kurzac-Kotula – winner of the Spisak under maestro K. Penderecki

Cello is her sister, as she proved in 2006, winning 2nd prize at the first and last edition of Michal Spisak Polish Music Competition.
She showed her talent again before the audience of Dąbrowa in 2016 during the inaugural concert of the 10th international edition of this competition, playing along with NOSPR under maestro Krzysztof Penderecki.

First, however, she graduated with honors from Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice in the class of Professor Paweł Głombik. Later, she played at many prestigious contests – the 5th W. Lutosławski International Cello Competition, International Cello Competition in Liezen (Austria), where she won the 3rd prize and the competition of the composer from Dąbrowa. The same year, when she won Michał Spisak silver medal, she established a constant cooperation with Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice and as a doctor of musical arts she began to develop her pedagogical activity, lecturing in the cello class in K. Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice and conducting cello workshops. Natalia Kurzac-Kotula has never given up, training under the masters like Adalbert Skocica (Vienna), Klaus Storck (Munich) or Heidi Litschauer (Salzburg). She regularly participates in important cultural events as a soloist, on NOSPR and Silesian Philharmonic concerts.
