HARPS, SAXOPHONES, CLARINETS – WE NEED YOU!

On September 14, 2019, we will again celebrate birthday of Michał Spisak – an outstanding Polish composer  from Dąbrowa Górnicza by inaugurating the 13th Michał Spisak International Music Competition. On September 23, we will select young instrumental masters in the harp, clarinet and saxophone specialties! Participants’ applications until June 14, 2019!

The next year’s edition of the competition is addressed to saxophonists, clarinetists and harpists from around the world who will not be over 30 on the day of the start of this great musical event. The competition has for years become the forge of young instrument masters. Its laureates are valued soloists and members of the largest orchestras in the country and abroad.

The participants will have to go through three stages of auditions, the last stage will take place with the accompaniment of the Zabrze Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, traditionally conducted by Sławomir Chrzanowski! The composition of the jury will be known soon.

71 participants from various places of the globe took part in previous edition of the Michał Spisak International Music Competition, from whom an international podium was selected (in the categories bassoon, horn and double bass).

The organizers: The Zagłębie Palace of Culture, the city of Dąbrowa Górnicza and Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice.
